D.Macgillivray were established in 1941 selling handknitted Harris Wool Socks, sweaters and handwoven Harris Tweed and soon produced many other items to sell through a mail order distribution service. In 1955 alone the company sold 50,000 pairs of socks and 45,000 yards of Tweed as well as many other products to an enthusiastic market.

Today, the range of products has been broadened to include clothes and furnishings, souvenirs, jewellery, calendars, CD's, books and much more. Most of these products will be able to be bought online in the near future.
